If you want some bells and whistles, I recommend the following tools to build a website.
NoteTab Light
Could you do with a little bit of help with HTML?
NoteTab Light
is a capable HTML editor that you can download for free. It's a slimmer version of the award-winning NoteTab Pro, and makes text editing a breeze.
NoteTab Light allows you to quickly move around a stack of large files with a simple tabbed interface. You can format your text to your heart's content, and write with the font of your choice.
Keyword Suggestion Tool
Keyword analysis is a fundamental search engine optimization strategy. When you write and submit webpages and articles, you want to get ranked for the specific terms your target audience is searching for.
It's important to select keywords that already have huge search traffic - not words that you think will have huge search traffic. That’s where your research comes in. Once you’ve studied which words are drawing the most traffic, you’ll have a better idea of which keywords you need to use.
You can research the keywords your target market is searching for by using the
keyword suggestion tool.
All you have to do is enter a starting keyword. The keyword suggestion tool then generates up to 100 related keywords and an estimate of their daily search volume. The use of keywords help you to generate search engine friendly content.
Mind Puzzle: A triangle has three sides, a rectangle has four, a hexagon has six, and so on. How many sides has a circle?
(Use your lateral thinking skills to find the solution to the mind puzzle above. If you have a brain freeze, you'll find the answer elsewhere on this page.)
Live Keyword Analysis
When writing your webpages and articles, focus each around the keyword or keyword phrase you have selected. This would include having it in the title of the article, and sprinkled throughout the beginning, middle, and end of the article.
Aim to have a keyword density of around 2 percent in your webpage or article. You can use the free
live keyword analysis tool
to check the keyword density of your webpages and articles.
Google Alerts
Google has great tools to build a website. For example,
Google Alerts
are email updates of the latest relevant Google results, based on your choice of query or topic, and sent to your nominated e-mail address.
Some handy uses of Google Alerts include keeping current on a niche or your competitors, or monitoring any research done in your market. You can also follow any developing news stories that might be relevant to your website.
Google Suggest
Another of Google's excellent tools to build a website is
Google Suggest
. You may have noticed that as you type in a keyword, Google offers suggestions and shows the number of results. For example, if your niche is tai chi and you enter 'tai chi' into Google Suggest, it tells you that you could write web pages or articles on 'tai chi for beginners', 'tai chi moves,' or 'tai chi exercises'.
Big Selling Ideas
Are you looking for profitable website ideas? How about a website on Secrets about Kite Flying. Or Facts about Astrology for Beginners. Or Reviewing Products about Marathon Training?
Take your pick from close to 5000 potentially profitable website ideas at
Bigsellingideas.
This is a great way to start thinking outside the box when you're doing market research to find a profitable niche.
Headline Analyzer
The
headline analyzer
is one of the great free tools to build a website. It analyzes your headlines to determine their Emotional Marketing Value (EMV) scores. As you can imagine, reaching your customers in a deep and emotional way is a key to successful copywriting, and your headlines are unquestionably the most important pieces of copy you use to reach prospects.
Using this tool, your headlines are analyzed and scored based on the total number of EMV words in relation to the total number of words contained. This determines the EMV score of your headlines.
In addition to the EMV score, you get an analysis of which emotions in your visitors your headlines most impact: intellectual, spiritual, or empathetic. This information is invaluable for writing copy for your webpages, articles, and ads.

Image Resizer
Another one of the best free tools to build a website is the
image resizer.
It enables you to resize any image in gif, jpg or png format simply and easily. It works very well for resizing graphics to use on your web pages.
I buy most of my graphics from
Dreamstime
at an extremely reasonable price (often less than a dollar for a high quality image), and then use the image resizer to resize my images to recommended sizes for hassle-free uploading to my link library in Site Build It!
If you have a lot of images on your site, be sure to use keyword-rich file names and appropriate alt tags. (Alt tags are in the source code of your website. They are used specifically for images.) Images are a great way of attracting more traffic to your site!

You can create a widget or blidget (blog widget) on your site at
